Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

"At Ryde Public School, we are proud to nurture a culture of lifelong learning, where every student is encouraged to ask, “How good can we be?” Guided by our motto — Strive today, succeed tomorrow — we inspire our students to grow with confidence, curiosity, and purpose.

Founded in 1868 and located in the heart of Ryde, our school is enriched by 518 students representing over 50 language backgrounds. This rich diversity creates an inclusive and respectful community where every child feels valued and nurtured from the moment they walk through our gates.

We believe that wellbeing is the foundation of learning. Our vision is to partner with families to empower students to become confident, resilient, self-directed learners. We offer a broad curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, including Opportunity Classes, Diverse Learning Spaces, and the North Learning Centre for specialised support. Excellence is also fostered through programs in creative arts, sport, debating, and student leadership.

Our students embrace the values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience (3Rs), shaping a positive and inclusive school culture. Through initiatives like our Student Representative Council (SRC) and SRC TV, students are given a voice and a strong sense of belonging.

Blending historic sandstone buildings with modern learning spaces, Ryde Public School reflects both our proud history and our commitment to innovation. As our community grows, we remain dedicated to providing every student with the opportunity to thrive — academically, socially and emotionally.

Together, we continue to ask and answer the question:
“How good can we be?”

Warm Regards,

Thanh Ta, Principal
